The best way to access the back mounting bar to drill or turn the screws to mount a window box is to use a 12″ extension on your drill. That way you can drill holes and screw screws from the outside of the box going through the design instead of using a wrench or trying to get your drill to fit inside the box.

Found a great product called Moisture Mizer. You add these superabsorbant crystals to the soil near the roots of the flowers you are planting. When watered the crystals absorb water and act as a reservoir for you plants. A 1 pound container of this stuff can hold 40 gallons of water so a little goes a long way. $12.77/lb and very worthwhile if you do not have a drip system or are l to water regularly.

If you have a large molding around your windoe side mounting brackets can be used on window boxes to allow the box to mount higher up in the winsow. This allows flowers to be seen better from the inside of the house looking out. the boxes hae to be made wider than the window frame to let them slide up the window edge.
